Under FASTER Act, Color Coding By Allergen Can Help With Sesame Handling

On January 1st, the Food Allergy Safety, Treatment, Education, and Research (FASTER) Act, went into effect, designating sesame as the 9th major food allergen recognized by the US. With this law, the FDA now requires special labeling on packaged foods containing sesame, and food processors and manufacturers who work with sesame now need to review their handling of the ingredient. 

Color coding plans, specifically color-coding by allergen plans, can be a huge help here.
