Pharmaceutical & Nutraceutical
Pharmaceutical and nutraceutical facilities need to know that the products used in their facilities can be relied on to be functional, efficient, and safe. Here at RSQP, we’ve worked with various manufacturers in the industry to provide tools and products used for everything from material handling and storage of medicines and medicine ingredients to the necessary cleaning and sanitizing efforts required across a facility.
With quality and safety being a paramount goal in pharmaceutical and nutraceutical facilities, it’s important for manufacturers and processors in this industry to follow all guidelines from the FDA to meet Current Good Manufacturing Practices (CGMPs).
One important measure here is ensuring precautionary measures for the prevention of both contamination and cross-contamination are being made. This starts by knowing every tool and product you use is going to not only serve its intended purpose but will also be food-safe and can be relied on to maintain its hygienic nature over time. A tool used for material handling or cleaning that deteriorates and leaves behind debris poses a serious risk for contamination. For this reason, we carry FDA-compliant and hygienic tools that can be counted on for safety now—and in the future. National Sanitation Foundation (NSF) certified stainless steel scoops and shovels are a common example and a favorite among customers for material handling due to their durable construction and easy-to-clean smooth surfaces.
Implementing color-coding is also popular in pharmaceutical and nutraceutical facilities as it mitigates risk for contamination and cross-contamination by ensuring tools are only used for their intended purpose in the correct area of a facility. As a best practice, facilities should color-code everything from material production and storage products to cleaning tools and even food-safe wearables. Those facilities that produce multiple drugs or supplements frequently choose to color-code by zone in order to keep tools used in the production or processing of one product away from the other. Facilities that use potentially hazardous drugs and materials often employ a two-color color-coding plan at a minimum to clearly flag all tools that come into contact with previously identified high-risk materials. We carry a wide range of high-quality, FDA-compliant color-coding tools that are ideal for pharmaceutical and nutraceutical facilities and have provided our hand-selected product recommendations list below for handy reference. Our experienced team is also available for assistance in advising on product selection and color-coding best practices at any time.
